How to stay happy in life: Gratitude is the key

No matter how healthy your food intake is or how much money you possess, it’s of no good to you if you aren’t happy in your life. Yes, I have seen people having little to no money with them and yet, they’re happy. I’ve seen people burdened with loans and yet, happy. I’ve seen people with failed relationships and yet, they’re happy! What makes you think they’ve it in them? What do you need to do in order to be happy? This brings me down to asking the big question – Are you happy? If yes, then you’re already on the right path. If not, read below and you may find the key to happiness 🙂

Happiness is a feeling, not a destination

First things first. Do note that happiness is not a destination. It is not something that you can hold on to. Happiness is more of a feeling that generates within you. So, your job is to generate those feelings of happiness voluntarily – Yes, underline the word voluntarily. Because happiness is a feeling, just like sadness, it’s something that occurs within you. The good news is, you are completely in control of it.

So, if you want to be happy, you can be. If you want to feel sad about something or someone, you can be. It’s obviously a wise decision to choose to be happy because staying happy comes with lot of benefits. Some of them include being healthy, energetic, motivated, high self-esteem, a positive outlook towards you and the society around you, among many. When you’re getting all these benefits, why not stay happy all the time? Start to generate those feelings of happiness and stay happy.

People and situations don’t let me be happy

I have heard this a lot and I can’t stress enough that majority of the people who aren’t happy, fall to this bracket. Are you also unhappy because of the people around you? Is the situation that you live in, isn’t letting you happy? Let me tell you something. The situation or the people may never change. If that’s the case, would you continue to be unhappy and sad all your life? Hell, NO! That’s not the way how it works.

Look, I completely accept the fact, and may be even you need to, that there is no one on this world who has “everything” that they want. While some are blessed with great looks and money, some are with great health and optimistic attitude. So, being contended with what we have is very important, even if you have very very less. Please be grateful of what you currently have, as complaining about the lack of anything will not take you anywhere.

Gratitude is the key to happiness

In short, do not worry about the wrong people around you, and the unhappy situation/state that you live in. Please be grateful about whatever little that you have, and whatever good that you see around you. Trust me, this is the only way to improve your state of happiness and to attract something good that you’ve always wanted.

You can always look for something wrong, and at the same time, you can always look for something good. All I want you to do, is to look for something good and just stay in that good feeling for a longer time, generating a sense of happiness and contentment. I know this will seem tough at the beginning. But once you start to change your attitude towards “being happy and grateful with whatever you have and wherever you are”, you will start to see a change within you. Stay happy, stay healthy, enjoy every moment of your life. Because, you are born for the same reason 🙂
